Our Facilities
Operating since 1952, Coachella Valley Adult School originally began as the Coachella Evening High School under the umbrella of the Coachella Valley Union High School District. Today, Coachella Valley Adult School (CVAS) is the largest adult school in the Coachella Valley serving over 3,100 adult students yearly and the third largest adult school in Riverside County. CVAS became fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges in 2007. CVAS operates under the direct supervision of the Coachella Valley Unified School District. The district is located in Thermal, county of Riverside, approximately 25 miles southeast of Palm Springs. It encompasses 1,200 square miles of rural farmland and desert. The district’s total K-12 enrollment for 2007-2008 was 18,203. Approximately 200 of these students were from Salton City located in neighboring Imperial County.
