Abram Friedman Occupational Center empowers a diverse student body to effectively participate in a technologically driver ever-changing society. The staff promotes respect for life-long learning and the achievement of personal goals.
Abram Friedman Occupational Center (AFOC), is one of five regional occupational centers in the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) Division of Adult and Career Education (DACE), and has an annual enrollment of more than 8,000 students. Its central location in the heart of the downtown Los Angeles draws a diverse range of students seeking low cost short-term career training.

Our Facilities
Abram Friedman offers competency based state-approved programs. The courses are reviewed by each industry sectors Employment Advisory Board (EAB) annually. The EAB ensures that content is aligned with industry standards; the latest technology and skills are being used, students are provided with the latest updates on local labor market information. Students earn a Certificate of Completion once they have demonstrated mastery of the skills being taught and are encouraged to pursue additional industry based certification/licenses to add to their employability. Over the last few years AFOC CTE graduates have earned over 634 industry certifications in over 22 industry sectors.
